Harriette W Gwin Elementary School

My name is Hunter Nichols, and I am honored to serve as the assistant principal of Gwin Elementary. I joined the Gwin community in July 2023 and am incredibly grateful to work alongside such a dedicated and student-centered team.

I began my career in education in 2013 working with children facing emotional and behavioral challenges. That early experience ignited a passion for supporting the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally. After earning my degree in early childhood and elementary education in 2017, I served as a reading interventionist and later as a third-grade classroom teacher for several years.

In 2022 I earned a master's degree in educational leadership to pursue my goal of supporting students, families, and educators in a broader leadership role. I am passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive school culture and working collaboratively with teachers to ensure every child has a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Outside of school I enjoy running, traveling, and spending time with my wife Ashleigh and our Goldendoodle Teddy. I have completed two World Major Marathons and will soon be completing my third as I continue working toward earning all six stars.
